Son Tra Peninsula is where you can find some of Da Nang’s most hidden beaches, such as Bai Bac, Tien Sa, and Con Beach. Located 12 km north of Da Nang, it’s also a natural reserve that’s home to the rare red-shanked doucs. When you’re here, make sure to visit Linh Ung Pagoda. Located on Son Tra (Monkey) Mountain, the stunning pagoda is known for its 67-metre-tall white statue of the Goddess of Mercy. Son Tra Peninsula also has a lookout point called Ban Co Peak. Do watch out for the bronze statue of Confucius, one of China’s most prominent philosophers.

Tien Sa Beach is set on the western end of the Son Tra Mountains. It mainly houses fishing villages, but its peaceful setting is a good place for escaping the crowds. You can easily make your way here by motorcycle as roads to Son Tra Peninsula are empty on most days. Part of Tien Sa Beach is owned by a hotel of the same name, so if you’re not a guest, there’s a small entrance fee. After a day at the beach, make sure to visit Linh Ung Pagoda and Ban Co Peak before heading back to Da Nang City.
